We wanted to come up with the ultimate golf trip, outside of Ireland of course. A place with championship golf courses, a state of the art practice ground, superb places to eat, right beside the ocean and pretty much guaranteed sunshine. Quinta Do Lago is by far the best golf resort on The Algarve and the biggest decision you will have to make is which of the courses you will play first.

Quinta North: This is the kind of course you want to play 9 in the morning before hitting the beach or a relaxed afternoon of 18 holes with a few beers on the buggy before a late dinner. The very natural woodland, pine setting that snakes its way around the resort and with a few well-placed water hazards will have every part of the bag tested to the max.

Laranjal, which means "Orange Grove" is the most recent addition to Quinta Do Lago, this 18 hole layout is set amongst lines of orange trees, the odd fig and avocado tree thrown in for good measure. This is a real joy to play with numerous lake guarded fast paced greens and perfect fairways that you're almost afraid to take a divot from. This course will find you ticking every box off your list of great courses in-between applications of sun-screen. Just make sure you pack your A-Game for this track.
