Customer Stories - Mick N
Background:
Mick first visited us in 2009 with a 20 handicap.
What was wrong:
He developed some problems when he switched to a standard set of Cobra forged irons Irons & Driver: Missing the greens on the left.
How we fixed it:
His problems indicated a loft and lie problem, so we adjusted the lie angles 2 degrees flatter and the ball now flies straight. With his driver, Mick is very "handsy". We used a very low torque, stiff tipped shaft in a lightweight to get more distance. We also used a head we could open 1.5 degrees as he really slings his hands at the shot.
Improvement:
Mick's handicap is now 12 and is going from strength to strength; in September 2010 he won The Presidents Prize in Newbridge Golf Club, scoring the winning total of 140 with a 69 Nett and a 71 Nett. We knew with the proper adjustments he could play the way he feels comfortable, be more consistent. Seems to be working, much to the disappointment of his golf buddies, Mick took the money with an eagle putt on the last at Dunmurray Springs to take the 4-ball money.
