ForeGolf On Tour

ForeGolf On Tour

We had such a good time on the road with the Tour Truck last year we decided we had to visit more locations this year. We were thrashing out ideas at one of our breakfast meetings (massive cups of tea and sausage sandwiches at the ready) when we decided to get a big map of Ireland and plan our attack.  We took inspiration from our win of World Clubmaker of the Year and started making plans to cover the whole of Ireland, ok the four corners of Ireland.

It’s not an easy task to find a golf club with access to the practice ground for a forty foot tour truck, but we really struck gold with all the venues this year. We’ve been made feel so welcome and can honestly say we’ve had a ball so far. Well, apart from getting trapped in the tour truck in Westport – “the day the roller shutter door died”.  To be fair, I wasn’t in there too long and it gave everyone else a good laugh. It turned out to be an easy fix and we managed to find a local electrician (thank you Google) who came to my rescue.

ForeGolf Custom Fitting Tour Truck visits Westport

We spent the May bank holiday weekend in Westport Golf Club, where Alex Mealia and Sean Durkan keep things ticking over. This was our second visit to Westport and was definitely top of my list for our ForeGolf On Tour plan. We spent the days custom fitting our most western customers and the evenings with Vinnie and Shane at The Helm. To keep Don Don in top form, he requires a very careful balance of feeding and sleeping and if he’s away from home, even more so.
ForeGolf custom fitting at Dromoland Golf Club Two weeks later we packed up the truck once more and made our way to Dromoland Castle Golf & Country Club. Even with the tour truck going round in circles on unfamiliar roundabouts (who knew Limerick could be so confusing) – all of the travel stress vanished when we pulled in the gate. Dromoland is amazing, FACT ! If any of you are planning a golf staycation – put this place on your list.

With space tight, we unpacked the tour truck and our generous host David Foley gave us his teaching room at the driving range. Its easily one of the best driving ranges I’ve seen. More notably, if any of you visit the clubhouse – the seafood chowder and brown bread comes very highly recommended by Don Don.

So, two down and hopefully four more to go, keep an eye out for the ForeGolf Tour Truck at a golf club near you.  In between the ForeGolf On Tour weekends, we custom fit at our head office at The Red Lane Driving Range near Naas, Co Kildare.

Just to explain, we have been invited to The JP McManus Pro-Am to look after the tour players and as we will be the only tour truck there, I have a sneaking suspicion our location might not be open to the public.
