When Ping brought out the wooden headed driver and fairway woods back in the 1970’s it transformed golf and still to this day golfers talk of how well balanced and easy to hit they were. They then brought out a few metal designs that flopped, until the G2 driver hit the shelves and this truly was a class product. Then soon after the G5, G10, G15 and now K15. The Ping K15 is another large forgiving head with a draw bias design to help those slicers out there. I think the driver is very forgiving if a little long in the shaft. I struggle to see how this driver out performs the G15 and wonder if Ping might have brought out another “similar” design a little too quickly. I wonder where this model will fit into an already full market.
However in complete contrast, I do think the ladies market is very under-serviced with not enough equipment made specifically for girls. This is where Ping shine through with the new Faith range. I love everything about this product, the colour-way, the head performance, the shaft quality and the overall performance. I am a firm believer that companies should only bring out a product when they have something to give and should not be launched just for the sake of market share.
