Steve was a 12 handicapper when he came to see us last year. He had been playing with a set of irons for a long time and didn’t think new custom clubs would make enough of a difference . He also thought that custom clubs from ForeGolf would be too expensive and probably not worth the investment.
He has a very full swing with good energy but uses his arms and hands a lot instead of his whole body. We needed a lightweight but solid shaft for him to help get the ball to fly better, further and straighter, so we used a 60 gram graphite shaft in stiff flex. We also picked one of Cobras new heads as it is designed to get the ball in the air quickly. David worked with him to identify his rhythm and tempo and then matched the balance weight of the clubs to suit him so he could swing it easier but with better results. The lengths were made a little longer and the lie angle was adjusted a little flatter to suit his stance and ball striking position.
Since getting the clubs he has lost two shots off his handicap in 7 months and has had 2 hole in ones.

Just had my second hole-in-one in the last 6 months with my ForeGolf custom built Cobra irons. And my handicap is down from 12 to 10 since getting the new set as recommended by David at my fitting session last July. 24 years playing golf and I’ve only had two holes in one, both in last 6 months and both since I got my new custom built clubs. Coincidence?
According to Golf Digest Ireland the odds of an amateur scoring a hole in one are 12,750 to 1 and Irelands national hole in one club estimate a lot higher at 33,000 to 1. I’ve played perhaps 50 rounds over the last 6 months so had maybe 200 tee shots on par 3’s and I’ve holed out twice, so my odds are currently 100/1!
To top it off, I’ve been cleaning up in the 2’s clubs at all the opens.
My advice to anyone like me, that spent hours at the range, took lots of lessons and practiced like a maniac but still couldn’t get the ball to go exactly where I wanted it to. Get custom fit and have your clubs built by the best.
My ForeGolf set cost nearly the same as a rack set from the “golf superstores”. It’s a no-brainer!
