… and is now picture perfect. The R9 product is by far the best design for (almost) all golfers who need to adapt the face angle of the club to allow for swing path issues. This head is high up on our list of must-have fairway woods thanks to its low centre of gravity which makes it easier to get in the air off the deck.
However, recently we did some ball flight testing and found the perfect shaft for the head, this match made in heaven is the Fujikura Speeder 757 in stiff flex. This shaft gets the ball up initially and then makes it go flat at the middle of the flight, with the nice spin from the head, it then lands softly but with a strong ball flight.
This is an excellent combination for both off the deck and then off the tee on tight fairway holes as it is really long. The further adjustability of the head angle allows us to work with a whole host of golfers who normally cut-fade the 3 wood to make it fly.
This makes this super fairway club one of our best of all time and if you are in the market for a high performance 3 wood … then this is the one.
