The ForeGolf Invitational 2010

When we won the GCA World Clubmaker of the Year we went straight out and had a slap up meal. We started talking how far we had come since 1997 with Derek and his one man show and decided we needed to show our appreciation to the people who have helped us on our way, our customers. We wanted to thank everyone for playing with ForeGolf clubs but also for spreading the word and telling their golfing buddies who are the best custom fitters in the land.

It was impossible to call and thank everyone, we have thousands and thousands on our books so we picked the customers who sent us the most friends. Just to be fair we had a draw to pick out some random names from our customer list as well. Then we added one or two who have been a massive help to us over the years into the group as well. The plan was to put on a spectacular show and bring everyone to an amazing location, we picked The Old Head of Kinsale where the magnificent scenery, superb golf course and wonderful people would blow our customers away, literally !

To keep ahead of all the action we had eGolf-Score there giving all the teams a Blackberry phone to update their scores after each hole which then appeared live on a big screen back in the clubhouse. Afterwards we kicked back on the terrace with a BBQ dinner overlooking the Atlantic with the lighthouse twinkling in the distance.  As one of our customers said the other day “I’m still smiling”.

We wanted to thank everyone for taking part but a big shout out to Owen Bonner who took the main prize. Owen gets to come next year to present the ForeGolf Cup to next years winner. We have decided that we will have a customer tournament every year until another Irish winner is crowned GCA World Clubmaker of the year.

So keep up the great golf, keep spreading the word and hopefully we will see you on the fairways next year.
