Last month we asked if you had some good golf news to share.
Ian M travelled all the way from Limerick to get custom fitted. Unfortunately he doesn’t win furthest travelled ( this year that went to a customer in Singapore). Now, we don’t just look a person up and down and then see what’s on the shop floor and send him on his merry way. Our fitting process is very different. Ian had his fitting with Dave and using the notes from his file here’s how we decided what would suit him.
Ian has a slightly short backswing but generates a lot of power through the ball and hits it very hard. He therefore needs a lot of stability in the shaft flex but needs the shaft to be lightweight so he can feel where the head is and judge where it needs to be through to when he hits the ball. We put a Nippon 95 gram stiff shaft into his irons and we hard stepped it to make it play a little stiffer to create a much more stable hit for him over his old set. We also put an Aldila NV Prototype 60 gram X Flex in a Cleveland Launcher Tour 9.5* driver to help with stability and control. The Tour head in 9.5* also helped to keep the ball spin under control so he can maximise his yardage and launch it as high as he likes. His drives were a good 18-20% longer but much straighter.

” Went for the fitting on the 12th August and got the clubs the following week, shot 82 (playing of 16, so 66 net) in a scratch cup the week after. Playing handicap cut from 16 to14 and shot 70 (41 points in Charity Singles) despite not yet being calibrated to the new (longer) distances. Cut another 1.2 to bring me to 13. That was 16 to 13 in two weeks…. can’t complain really. ”
So, a big congrats to Ian M, he’s pretty pleased with the drop in his handicap. It’s great to get feedback from our customers, we are always fine tuning ForeGolf and to know we are making a difference and helping your game, well to put it this way – it works for us.
