We get so many emails and comments on how golfers have been told that …. the speed of the swing is linked to the flex of the shaft.
This is probably the furthest thing from whether a shaft will work for the golfer or not. Trying to match shaft flex to swing speed alone, is like trying to pick lottery numbers.
It is more productive to match the shaft to the profile of the swing, the strength of the golfer and also what you want the head to do and ultimately what you want the ball to do.
At ForeGolf, we work on getting more speed and maximize swing potential, to get more distance for our golfers. We use a extremely lightweight shaft to allow the head of the club to swing faster. Then with this lightweight and added speed there also needs to also be a certain level of stability from the shaft.
This is where we have been working closely with companies who specialize in high quality carbon fiber that allows shafts to be very strong but very light. Our favourites for this kind of production process are Oban with their Devotion 45 and 55 gram range, Miyazaki with their Kusala and Dromos in 59 and 61 models and Aldila with the new 50 gram Phenom shaft and soon to be released Magnum shaft.
Getting the ball to go far is easy but getting it to go far AND straight is an art form.
