Callaway Mack Daddy Tour Grind Wedges and why they are so good

Callaway Mack Daddy Tour Grind Wedges and why they are so good

By having the right wedges you will be able to chip like a Pro. We can customise them for the right shaft, length, loft and grip and also give you the right type of sole to suit you and your golf course.

Roger Cleveland, the man who basically invented the wedge is the inspiration behind the new Callaway Mack Daddy Wedge.

I believe that there is far too much bounce in many of today’s wedges with design usually born from club designers based in California who have never been to Ireland, let alone knowing what wedges will suit Irish turf and golf courses.

In Ireland, the ground is different, specifically the grass blade size. This means the interaction with the front edge of the wedge is important to make the ball fly and spin correctly. Our bunkers have a different type of sand that can bind together most of the year. So having a lot of bounce on wedges is almost pointless for most of our golfers.

Callaway Mack Daddy Tour Grind Wedge, the sole of this range of wedge is ground at the back edge and it also has a much straighter leading edge. This back relief allows the front edge to sit much lower to the ground and clipping the ball off a tight lie is far easier as the front of the wedge will hit the ground first. If your can get good contact with the ball you can also regulate and improve the distance control and spin from the wedges.

It’s the best wedge we have seen for properly spinning the ball since the groove rule change. It comes in Satin steel and also a jet Black finish.

We are using a lot of the 50°, 54° and 58° for most of our distance gapping and prefer to use this wedge instead of the customary wedges that come in the different iron “sets”.  If you suffer with lots of thin hit wedges and struggle to get your current wedge under and through the ball then this is the wedge for you.

By having the right wedges you will be able to chip like a Pro.  We can customize them for the right shaft, length, loft and grip and also give you the right type of sole to suit you and your golf course.
