Taylor Made have at last taken innovation and Iron head design and fused them into an Iron head that really works. There is a choice of two head designs. The face of these clubs practically “floats” on top of the rest of the head and if you are looking for a lot of ball speed, these heads deliver in spades.
>
There are essentially 3 slots in each head, filled with a black coloured polymer which allows the face to feel soft and very active.
The ball flies quite high from both head designs so the shaft choice and loft settings are very important in order to get the maximum distance. If you hit the ball high already; be careful, the ball pops up very quickly from these heads.
Off centre hits feel pretty good thanks to the new face slots, they really work and the feel is crisp and solid.
.
TIP: With all this change in material and design, the spacing of the clubs with the correct lofts is critical to keep the yardages consistent throughout the set.

Last year’s SLDR Driver was good for specific speed and ball flight requirement. It didn’t really work, if the golfer swung it slow and didn’t really work if you hit the ball low. That said Taylor Made have done a complete U-Turn and have brought back the white colour with the new R15 driver (although black is also available if you want).
.
The way the club is built to suit the golfer and the way the shaft is matched to not only the golfer but the flight the head creates is very important. Market leading technology and shiny new heads won’t create better and more consistent ball flight. It’s how this new technology and design is matched to each style of golfer is what makes it work.
Having the club fitted by experts and then built to exact measurements is how to see real results and have an immediate impact on your game.
