Customer Question: When Should I Get Custom Fit Again?

Customer Question: When Should I Get Custom Fit Again?

Are you are considering upgrading your custom clubs ? Here's 5 points to note if your equipment is 5 (or more) years old.

We had an email recently from a customer who wanted to know when should he come back and see us?

He was still playing well with his ForeGolf clubs that were 5 years old but wanted to know if technology had moved on and would he see the benefit of an upgrade?

Are you are considering upgrading your custom clubs ?

Here’s 5 points to note if your equipment is 5 (or more) years old.

Don’t Change Just Because it’s Shiny and New.
Compare and contrast the technology. Proper fitting is crucial when changing or considering an upgrade. The ball doesn’t know or care that it’s a new club hitting it.

If Your Current Iron Steel Shafts are Over 5 Years Old
And you want to hit the ball higher and potentially further
, then look at the range of lightweight shafts on the market. There are 75, 85 and 90 gram steel shafts available now that didn’t exist 5 years ago that can help hit the ball more efficiently.

Driver Head and Face Technology to Hit the Ball Further hasn’t Advanced that Much in 5 Years.
Todays head design now hits it higher with less spin so that can potentially hit the ball further but only if that type of ball flight suits how you hit the ball. However, today’s drivers do hit the ball straighter thanks to adjustability and better constructed shaft technology.

If the Grooves and the Face of your Irons are Looking Worn.
If the wedge grooves are looking “squashed” or disfigured then you will see a huge benefit in a change with better more controlled distances and strike consistency. There are also new blends of steel and iron head design that hit the ball higher, further and with much better control.

Speed Slot Technology in Irons, hybrids and Fairway Woods has Increased Distance
Far beyond what we thought was possible 5 years ago. If you need more distance from the fairway then this new style of club head design will help a lot.

Technology certainly doesn’t change enough from year to year to warrant the complete upgrade of your equipment each season. However, if its been 5 years (or more) since you got your ForeGolf clubs, then it might be worth a visit to go have a full bag check and test the latest technology.

The bottom line is just because it’s new doesn’t mean it will automatically be better.

The correct application of the new club and its technology by fitting it to the player is where the true result lies.
